Couldn't have been a better end to a very trying day. Beautiful, too.

Couldn't have been a better end to a very trying day. Beautiful, too.

I've gotten spoiled this winter, walking and snow shoeing on packed or broken trails. I'm enjoying it so much that I've been keeping my snowshoes in the car, rather than next to the door, ready to head out into my own woods. The only trails that I've walked since this last storm, were made by turkeys. They pack a short distance trail pretty well. This afternoon, feeling a little stir crazy, I went to check two of my favorite spots. Neither parking area had been plowed. No one had been there before me. Guess it's my turn to break a trail tomorrow.

You are a hearty soul!
How did those icicles get like that?? Wow!
Love those icicles! Someone using them as snow Chihuly art?
One of these years, we’ll have to go snowshoeing together!

For years I have been frustrated with the digital darkroom. Working with a mouse, menus, and commands never felt creative in a satisfying way for me.
Real darkroom work is tactile, physical. It is painting with light, a dance performed with your hands in semi-darkness.
Then along came cell phones with pretty good cameras and it all began to change. The popularity of iphoneography has developers writing wonderful, creative apps for photo editing. Touch screens, tablets make it hands on again. But different. I'm totally intrigued.
I still prefer my SLR to the iPhone camera but I’m learning. And really, the best camera is the one you have with you!
Cool photo! Is that a frozen muddy frost heave?
That is a wonderful image. I don’t know if these apps are available for Android, but let me know the ones that you like. These days I am only taking my phone on trips, not my big camera.

Beautiful sunset through the trees. Hugs.
I’m sorry you had a trying day but I’m glad the sunset cheered you up.
Lovely juxtaposition!
