  • Slater Mill and the Knitting Weekend

This isn't the first time I've posted about an event taking place at the Slater Mill.  The Knitting Weekend is coming up fairly soon and I wanted to mention it here as the classes are filling up quickly.

If you haven't been to the Slater Mill, this is a great time to visit.  It is possible to come for the whole weekend, with truck shows, lectures, classes, vendors, a luncheon and opening cocktail party or pick and choose a la carte.  Or, don't commit.  Nearby Providence has lots of great places to eat, so make it a day, browse the vendor area, check out this historic site and have lunch in town.  The vendor area is open to the public, no registration, no fees.  If you are interested in checking out the offerings, go here and scroll down.

The list of artist/ teachers this year..

    Amy Christoffers
    Thea Colman
    Bristol Ivy
    Gudrun Johnston
    Ellen Mason
    Adrienne Martini

New this year, an ebook has been put together by the designers for this event, Weekend Knitting from Knitting Weekend.

Last year was the first time I'd been there.  It always (and still does) conflicts with another weekend for me.  I had a great time.  I'll be there vending again this year.

    1. That looks very cool. One more thing to put on my list when I’m recovered.

    2. Can I go and just shop the vendors? Or do I need to register and pay for classes, etc. to attend?

In case you missed it, Cheese won this year's pardon.

    Did you know that..

    • Abraham Lincold was the first president to pardon a turkey
    • these 20 week old turkeys already weigh 48lbs
    • the pardon was determined this year by Americans voting on Twitter

I love this tradition and love the pictures every year.  I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.
