  • Friday’s Photo and another reminder

The Massachusetts Sheep and Woolcraft Festival is this weekend at the fairgrounds in Cummington, MA. Great little show and a favorite of ours. Ball and Skein will be in the same spots as usual, under the grandstand in the little garages. It promises to be a warm weekend. Come by and say hi.

I had a picture picked out for today. But, as I started this post, I changed my mind. It was another oddity from the woods. I post a lot of them. This weekend is Memorial Day, the last weekend in May, and the last spring Fiber festival for Ball and Skein this year. Whew! So, I figured a picture from one of this year's shows was in order.

It is a month of dyeing, skeining, packing and unpacking. A time to see old and new friends, and a time to explore new ideas to work on over the summer.

I love to watch all the yarn ties pile up on the floor beneath the skeiners. Colors randomly tossed..would I think of putting them together?

I needed two pics to replace the one I had planned.

Have a great weekend, wherever you are and whatever your plans!!

    1. Enjoy the show! I hope you’re as busy there as you were when I saw you at NH. Good luck!

This time of year, when I'm working long hours dyeing between shows, I need more than ever to take an hour off to get out into the woods, to walk, to breathe, and recharge.  Works every time.  I come back refreshed. There is so much to see in the spring, and the perfume… oh my, the sweet scents of woodland blossoms.  My mind wanders along with my steps.  Best watch out.  Nature has gatekeepers.  This would have been a faceful.

Another show reminder.. if you are in Rhode Island tomorrow, Saturday, the Rhode Island Wool & Fiber Festival is at the Coggeshall Farm Museum site in Bristol. The weather looks great for it and it is a very pretty location.  Next door is Colt State Park.  In the past there has been a limited choice of food vendors (good food though so get in line early before they sell out) or take a picnic.  Hours: 9am – 4pm.

Ball and Skein will not be vending there this year.  I didn't sign on, knowing that I'd need a week between shows this year.  I am planning to go to play.  It will be a most needed day off.  Did I say the site is on the bay?

    1. It’s supposed to be a beautiful day tomorrow – have fun relaxing and NOT vending!

    2. Good for you! When’s the last time you went to a show just for fun?
      Enjoy!

    3. Hate those webs. Been running into them on a smaller scale routinely outside. And then the caterpillars hanging from the trees! You find them all over you when you go back in to finish the tick check. *sigh*
