  • Setting up

Set up isn’t pretty. The booth is laid out in my mind and drawn up ahead of time according to size and location. But… onsite, things change.

Yesterday’s setup. This morning it gets dressed. Show time, this afternoon at the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet Festival. Can’t wait to see who I know in Pittsburgh!

Looks beautiful! You made it work. Hope they pick you clean and you have barely anything to take back home. Miss you!

    6. The only way it would look better would be if I were standing there IRL ;0)
Have fun! Say hello to Pittsburgh for meβ™₯

  • can it be a January thaw..

.. when it has barely begun to freeze?

Yesterday, before the warm up, I went through the remainder of the apples that we had stored in bins down in the basement. I spent a couple hours peeling and slicing what was good, freezing enough for six pies. The peels and too soft apples were dumped under one of the wild apple trees for the deer. This afternoon I checked on them. There had been a lot of lookers, but no one was hungry enough to eat them. I hope that's a good thing.

Tonight, it is raining, melting away last week's snow and turning the roads into hockey rinks, water on ice. There are patches of grass showing through. So weird. I bet this is a prelude; winter getting ready to remind us that it is early in the season. We need some snow here. Besides, I like a bit of winter. Sitting in front of the wood stove with my knitting or a book, with snow falling outside the windows, is something I look forward to.

There's still February and March… plenty of winter left for wool.

The weather is so crazy these days. We were in the 80s this past week/weekend, and now it’s back in the 50s and was hailing an hour ago. I’d love some “normal winter weather”, whatever that is.
I love your knitting. What is it? I’d love to make a cardigan with that pattern.

    2. I like snow, too, when everyone is home and warm and cozy. I don’t like it so much when I or the people I love are out driving around in it. This weather is bizarre indeed.

    3. There’s still plenty of time and opportunity to dump snow on us…
The rain has turned my driveway into a luge run. I hold my breath every time I go down it, hoping I don’t end up out in the road before I want to be. (And most likely sideways. *sigh*)

    4. I really do hope I get some of my winter back. I know there is no guarantee, but rilly? New England? Do like the snow out the back windows and knitting/spinning, now weaving in the warmth.

Very weird winter. My hellebores were blooming on Christmas, and now there’s no snow to speak of. I’d be happy with four weeks of Saturday-night blizzards, if anybody’s listening.

Odd winter indeed! What’s the shawl pattern you’re knitting there? The yarn looks very yummy too.

    7. Oh yes, we have had balmy windy weather. Ever so ready for lots of spring snow. Any day now.

    1. Looks like someone sanded your road! Wish they’d get around to sanding mine, they’ve had several weeks…

    2. I could use some of that sand, too. The trip down my driveway this morning was quite exhilarating…
